A private photograph of Seattle’s Union and 1st Ave in the 1920s that is not property of a museum collection. Developed in his basement darkroom, Hal Pearson snapped this antique large format black and white photograph of downtown Seattle in 1927.

The Graflex camera was used by many documentary photographers of the day. It supplied detail throughout the exposure.
